Cold work tool steel
ALTA SKD11 Tool Steel Specification
Steel properties
ALTA SKD11 tool steel is a general-purpose cold work tool steel with high wear resistance (C%1.40~1.60, Cr%11.0~13.0), combined with better toughness performance than tool steel 1.2379, D2, 1.2080, D3 materials. This SKD11 steel has good hardenability and small deformation during quenching.
After spheroidizing annealing treatment, ALTA SKD11 tool steel would obtain a good machinability, and the carbide particles are small and uniform, good toughness and not easy to be cracked.
Applications
² High efficiency blanking dies, punch dies, coining dies for thin plates thickness <= 6mm
² Various kinds of scissors, inlay blades, woodworking blades, shear blades, industrial cutting knives
² Slider-resistant cold heading dies, cold forging dies, deep drawing dies, cold extrusion dies
² Forming rolls
² Thermosetting resin molds, general plastic molds
