Steel properties

ALTA 1.2550 steel is a shock resisting cold work steel that have high toughness and ductility, high impact-resistant, good machinability and polishability. The W% of this steel confers fatigue resistance, the Cr% of this steel provides good depth of hardness and resistance to abrasion.

It's also suitable for hot work applications where high fatigue strength with medium hot hardness is desirable.

² Cutting tools, shear blades, industrial cutting knives, chipper knives

² Impact resistant mold, Casting finishing tools

² Blanking dies for thin sheet, trimming tools, slitting cutters

² Hot work tools, such as punches for producing screws and hot riveting

² Hot forging dies for high-temperature die-casting light alloy
