Steel properties

ALTA 1.2436 steel is a high carbon-chromium tool steel (Cr12% version, ledeburite organization). It offers very high abrasive wear resistance which is much better than 1.2080 tool steel. As a high carbon high chromium tool steel ALTA 1.2436 has good through hardening properties and dimensional stability combined with high resistance to tempering.

Applications

² Various types of cold stamping dies with high wear resistance and long life like cold shearing blades, wire rolling plates

² Suitable for medium load impact stamping dies for punching stainless steel, copper, silicon and aluminum

² Used for stainless steel, silicon steel stamping dies (medium load), and deep-cup stamping dies
